The Grim Reeper
Meet Brian , the gatekeeper assigned to the Death Box from Hell. Brian was the Flight Safety instructor for our 3 day recurrent class in the Emb-120 simulator. Pat and i went through every emergency known to man in this full motion contraption we call the Sweatbox. Prop overspeed induced inverted flight, engine fires, engine outs, rapid depressurizations, flap assymetries, smoke in the cockpit, gen failures, approaches to mins. You name it and Brian has laughed at us about it , guaranteed. At the end of the course we nicknamed him the Grim Reeper which was fitting because he killed us on 3 different occasions. Thats what makes the sim fun and cost effective, we can bend airplanes and kill ourselves repeatidly without spending a ton of money , furthermore we walk away with a ton of entertainment and experience. This week was very educational and i look forward to it next year . Flight Safety is exceptional at what they do!~ www.flightsafety.comFriday, March 24, 2006

I Can Breathe Again
As i sit here tonight it almost feels sureal to report my newest endeavour. I can breathe again standing on top of the hill that i have been climbing for the past three years. Dale Earnhardt Jr , the son of "The Man In Black" has just put together a new Busch Series Team called JRM (JrMotorsports) and take a wild guess who his newest First Officer is. You got it. I got hired this past week to sit right seat on the Embraer-120 Brasilia and i am more excited than i have been in years. This whole week has been a blur with ground school on this beast of an aircraft. I have gotten so accustomed to the simplicity of pistons and carb heat airplanes that i feel about 100 miles behind the Brasilia and it's systems. At any rate i am positive that this thing is gonna be a frikkin blast to fly. My first scheduled trip is next tues departing to Richmond Va for test day. I am counting the seconds til the start up. After that i will go to ATL Flight Safety for an sic checkout in the simulator. Since i left Las Vegas i have been looking back on all the wonderful things i took from that place friendship, knowledge, discipline, and composure. Flight instructing has given me the tools to score a job like this and i will never regret doing it. My time in the desert happens to be the smartest move i have ever made. On top of that the friendship that i found there is something i can always hold near and dear to my heart. I could never forget the people that helped me get here. Thank you guys for everything and i miss you all so much ! I suppose i will officially kick off this new job with a trip to The Texas Motor Speedway on Apr 8 hauling Mark Mcfarland and his #88 Navy Pit Crew to the O'Riley 300. These guys are great and i believe i will enjoy working with them. Only time will tell what happens with this team but rumors are already circulating about another Busch team next year and also a Cup team in the near future. It is exciting to be a part of all this commotion, i am going to smile and enjoy the ride! Just remember that dreams do come true! Over and out from the sticks of Bville peeps. Hope all is well in your corner of the world. It couldn't be better here. Check out the new JRM sight http://www.jrmotorsport.com/

My Week Keeps Getting Better, Bike Week DAYTONA
This is the sickest ferry trip i have ever been on . Let me tell you about being in the right place at the right time. Tuesday Mar 7 /06 i got a call to fly a Mooney M20C down to Daytona for a purchaser. The trip was originally going to be an out-and-back until Stu decided to come along for the party. We headed out of RUQ Rowan Co. about 11 am and 3.5 hr later we were arriving New Smyrna Beach FL. The biker that bought this lil rocket of an airplane was the coolest cat ever. When he rolled up he tossed us the keys to his 400 hp Chevy SSR convertible and a huge beach house then instructed us to have a ball without scratching his baby. Have a ball we did! The main strip of Daytona is just littered with bikes and babes so we soaked it up . Until you see the mayhem that rolls into this town for Bike Week then you cannot appreciate the ellegance and style ubundantly portrayed by this crowd. We rode the strip for a bit and decided to get hydrated at a few of the legendary bars like Froggy's, Dirty Harry's, and Hot Topic. It was burn outs, beer, and babes all night long. I loved every minuite of it and so did Stuart. We also caught some shots of the local talent and omg they were yummy !!!!! After last call the strip was still hopping with the sound of the famous Harley Rumble everywhere. I can't wait for my next ferry trip ! I am rated to fly any aircraft with wings so if you need it relocated just zap me an email, especially if you live in Daytona Beach. http://www.daytonachamber.com/bwhome.html
Main Street Mayhem
OMG, i am at a loss of words trying to describe Daytona Beach Bikeweek 06 . Here are some words that come to mind inebriated, sick, twisted, smoky, fuzzy, frizzy, satanic, tasteless, and irresistable. When the rolling thunder descends on Atlantic Highway every March it is an unforgettable experience. Stu and I saw some of the most ported and polished metal in the land this week and it is etched in my mind. For instance the Purple bike is a big block 900 horsepower creation by Boss Hog and the Yellow Chop was all hand crafted in a guys basement. The cutural diversity here this week rivals Las Vegas and the Mayhem might even surpass it. Also the women that roll into town on 2 wheels are phenominally sexy on their machines and fit in fine with the guys. Hot Hot Hot ! If you get the chance then take the plunge, the plunge into Sunny Daytona for spring Bike Week. Come hungry, bored, and thirsty .You will not regret it ! Stu i am so glad you got to roll on this trip.
