Jumping the Ridge
You are looking at the approach into
Death Valley and basically you have to glide in like a manhole cover from 7000 ft over this ridge to an
elevation of -211 ft below sea level. That makes your head feel like it is going to implode. It is wicked how the valley floor is white as snow. What a beautiful place the Mojave.
Lunch at Furnace Creek
Kelly preflighting her Cessna 152 at Furnace Creek (L06) in the Valley of Death. We caught some grub at the Ranch Cafe and then blasted out of the Mojave Desert on the 1.5 hr return trip to Vegas. It can get a lil hairy scud running these valleys when you have an overcast restricting you from a climb. Today 6000 ft of Mt Charleston was sticking up through the cloud deck. Kelly is working on her private pilot license and is close to soloing . Keep up the good work Kelly and thanks for lunch!
Moving On Without You
Looking through my pics tonight i came accross this one and began to regret the day i sold my Batwing . If you could only see some of the places this thing has taken me to then you could understand the bond between man and his machine. More important than any destination this airplane has taken me to ,it is resposible for the status i am at today . As a commercial multi engine pilot i have graduated to bigger and better aircraft , however there is and will always be a void in my heart for this contraption. Every time i climbed into my Avid i was at one with nature and things just seemed alot less complicated. It now resides somewhere on a lake in Saschatuwan Canada sitting peacefully on the water awaiting it's next adventure. Maybe in some ways i am just the same, waiting for the next liftoff and pondering where i go to next. My life is about to change in many ways as the time draws near to leave my West Air family in Las Vegas. Perhaps the job opportunities that have come my way will lead me back to simplicity . Until then i continue to work dilligently on my future and look forward to each and ever hour i get to spend in the heavens. I miss my Batwing and all the fun that comes along with owning an experimental !

The Romance Of Flying
Get the documentary (
ONE SIX RIGHT ) which is now out on dvd for the
Van Nuys Airport in the San Fernando Valley of CA. It should be an aerial spectacle of precision filming . If you haven t seen the trailers from the video then click on the link and check it out , it is the best way to explain the romance of flying without even saying a word.

The Female Switchboard
This picture is of an older model that is completely self-explanitory and i think the newest version is about to come out this christmas . The women's half has alot of buttons and switches added to make things even more complicated. The men's half remains relatively unchanged.
I Want My Mommy
With the holidays just around the corner i couldn t help but post the tragic news about the passing of Chris Cringle. I just found out today and i am pretty upset also. Happy Holidays to all of you and forgive my warped sense of humor please.
Skydivers are Just a Lil Different
Now let me explain something to you if you are having trouble understanding. Skydivers are flyers but they are not pilots.I have spent the bulk of my training trying to figure why you would depart a perfectly good airplane . Skydivers on the other hand view the confines of an aircraft as the most unsafe place to be . Therefore this makes them a lil different than us aviators,
unless it is screwed, unglued, and on fire i am not jumping out of anything that flies. There is an explanation, take it as you will.

Mt Fiji
You are looking at a breathetaking shot of
Mt Fiji in Honshu Japan from the Dj's corner office. His 13 day trip around the world in the Atlas 747 has yeilded some pretty awesome footage. Keep the pics coming man and good luck.
Freightdog
Danny Jr is a new friend of mine whom resides in Las Vegas NV. It is a funny story because i didn t meet him here in vegas at all. His father is Capt Dan Sr. and he is the fearless leader of our Composite Civil Air Patrol Squadron in Mt Airy. Danny Jr. and i got the chance to cruise the Carolina sky in my late but great Avid Batwing Stol. He now flies this humongoid Boeing 747-400 for Atlas Air. What a rough life it must be . We are proud to see you living your dream . Stay in touch buddy !
500 FT Overcast
Aaron took his first ride through the clouds today round robin on the GPS approach into Mt Airy NC. It never ceases to amaze me that there is an airport at the end of a line on my lil computer screen . We popped out of the clouds right at the minimums which happens to be 500 feet above the rolling hills of Carolina.I caught up with Aaron on my trip home for Turkey Day and we committed a lil aviation.
Fellow RC Pilot
Jaime first solo in 9572H. This guy is a nurse here in the Valley and it is hopeful that he will upgrade to flying nurse pretty soon .
VFR on Top
I caught this view somewhere over
Oklahoma City as we made our way home for the Thanksgiving weekend.
Sean , Brian, and I flew West Air's twin Seneca 2200 NM and 11 hours from Las Vegas NV to Mt Airy NC. We visited my family in Yadkin Co for a couple days then headed down to the beach to see Brian's family. This happened to be the first time Sean had been to the East Coast so it was a milestone for all of us and a learning experience !The flight went off without a hitch. Good choice of plans for a week off of work. 11/25/05
The Horse and the Tide
This is a typical scene from the shore of
Myrtle Beach SC as they let you stroll the coast on your equine friend.
What a peaceful ride that would be , bareback next to the sea !
Conway Bombers
It has been 7 months since i have seen my roomates in Conway SC. We got to spend a lil time Wed. going to Billadonnas for lunch . I do not know where Eddie is for this pic but i also got to hang with him too. Good to be back in town guys !I wish you the best in your search for success!
